Laura Slot is a historian and writer with a focus on outsiders in 20th century intellectual history. She studied History of International Relations at Utrecht University (MA, 2007), with Political Science at the University of Florida. Her thesis on philosopher Bertrand Russell was published as a book. In 2009 she received a MSc from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
Between 2005 and 2016 Laura lived on the US East Coast for several years intermittently, in Florida, New York City, New Jersey and Boston, Massachusetts. She started out reporting, writing and editing for the school edition of Time Magazine, after which she worked as a translation manager for well-known lawyers and book publishers like Taschen, Könemann, Prometheus and Éditions Place des Victoires. Between 2015 and 2022 she worked in linguistics for technology companies, including WriterAccess and Atlassian.
Today Laura writes poetry and is working on a history book.
